You’ll Clear the CFA. But Which Room Are You Walking Into?
Every year, thousands of students enter finance with the same plan: clear a certification, land a “finance job.” Four or five years later, many of them quit. Not because they chose the wrong industry — because they chose the wrong role inside it.
Finance isn’t one field. It’s a building with ten different rooms — risk, audit, trading, wealth management, FP&A — each demanding a completely different kind of person. Most students walk in and grab the first door they see, without ever checking which room actually suits them.
Someone with a fear of blood shouldn’t force their way into medicine just because they cleared NEET. The same logic applies here. Clearing an exam doesn’t mean the role fits you.
So the real question isn’t which certification to chase. It’s this: which room was your personality actually built for?
